Try using small utensils.  You can purchase forks and spoons at most of the specialty kitchen stores.  In the meantime use a cocktail fork and baby spoon.

Remember: You can take 4 bites using the smaller fork or spoon compared to taking only one.  This causes you mentally to think your eating much more and it makes you slow down from shoveling in the food.  Give it a try!

Try to keep a food journal.  I like using a little spiral book that you can tuck a way.  You can find them even at grocery stores.  If you have your book handy where you can record what you eat, your more apt to write it down.

Remember: You really can't remember from day to day what you eat, the only way is to write it down.  Most of the time you will find out that you were eating a lot more than you bargained for.  Give it a try!

Try taking your favorite fat-free salad dressing out to dinner with you.  If the container is too large for your purse or your spouses purse to conceal, then use one of the lotion squeeze bottle you can purchase at any variety section.

Remember: MOST fat intake is from the salad dressing we use.  Find the fat-free one that you like and enjoy.  Give it a try!

Try adding some raw spinach to your tossed salad the next time you fix one.  Place your salad on a glass dish or clear glass plate.

Remember:  Spinach is excellent filler that is loaded with iron and all sorts of good vitamins.  If you spend some additional time in the kitchen making your food more attractive, you will not feel deprived.  Give it a try!

Try fixing French fries in the oven with fat-free  cooking spray.  Wash potatoes and cut into think strips.  Spray and bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then turn and re-spray, cook another 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Remember   A potato is great food!  Only 100 calories and everyone like fries.  If your in an experimental mood, try some veggie fries.  I like carrots and parsnips fixed the same way.  Ummmm.  Give it a try!

Try fixing a relish tray ahead for when you start fixing dinner. It is the first thing I pull out of the refrigerator  when I get home from work.  This way it gives you something to munch on that's good for you.

RememberSampling what you are fixing for dinner can add up to added calories and fat grams that you don't need.  Have something at your finger tips so you can snip away.  Give it a try!

Try using a water bottle with a plastic straw to drink from to increase your water intake.  I bought mine from an Am/Pm gas station and it is also insulated to keep the water cold. I love it.

Remember:  The old saying "It won't flush without enough water"  It just happens to be true.  Increasing your water intake also burns extra calories and fills you up in the process.  Give it a try!
